Right from the start the reader is aware of the horrendous outcome if this plan succeeds.  A group of British-Pakistani nationals; some of whom have fought with Daesh, others young idealists, volunteer for a suicide mission to destroy key facilities within England.  Tension is ratcheted up as the authorities seem slow to react.  Skilful writing weaves these strands towards the nail-biting conclusion.
